HOUSING INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES

WHL has unique experience in women's housing including access, tenancy and related issues. This experience comes from working directly with women.  It is committed to its specialist women's focus and targets those identified as most at risk or disadvantaged in relation to housing, including women experiencing domestic violence, young women and women exiting correctional facilities who need transitional housing.

Housing information and referral services are available to women experiencing a housing crisis - are homeless or at risk of homelessness.   Assistance may include assistance with Housing Establishment Funds (HEF) toward their rental arrears, rent in advance, removal cost, white goods and crisis accommodation.   

WHL also provides accommodation to men in need and currently manages:

• 110 rental properties and provides tenancy administration for women, including those with children

• 5 Rooming Houses accommodating 70 mixed gender tenancies

• 7 stand alone units

• 12 units accommodating tenants over the age of 70 years.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT

Women's Housing Limited is working with developers and the RSL to build and manage affordable housing for people who struggle to find appropriate housing in their local community. 

With low vacancy rates and high rents, many working people are priced out of the private rental market. These mixed income properties will alleviate housing stress and be located close to transport, shops and amenities.
